Canadian-based Manulife Financial has been conducting business in Hong Kong for more than one hundred years. Following is a brief chronology of the Company's history in Hong Kong.

2007 > Year 2007 marks Manulife's 110th anniversary in Hong Kong. Manulife celebrated by specially designing a 110th logo first day cover and stamp pane set to commemorate this milestone achievement. > As the Official Worldwide Life-Insurance Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Manulife was committed to promoting the Olympic spirit, with a series of Olympic-related publicity and advertising programmes. These include: * A major Olympic advertising campaign with "Bringing Dreams to Life" as theme * An Olympic Games Pin Design Contest * An interactive equestrian game in Manulife Hong Kong public Web site and an Equestrian Course sponsored for underprivileged children to promote equestrian game as the Olympic sport that Hong Kong will host for Beijing Olympics 2008. * Manulife Hong Kong Sports Scholarship Program (Phase II) awarding HK$1million to support 10 elite Hong Kong athletes in pursuit of their Olympic dreams. * A three-time lucky draw for privileged customers to win "Dream" Visit to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. > On the product front, Manulife has introduced a series of first-to-market insurance and wealth management products to Hong Kong: * The Russia Equity Fund and Turkey Equity Fund are introduced under the Manulife Global Fund platform to provide investors more fund choices and investment opportunities in these emerging markets. * Earlier in the year, Manulife launches Matrix – a unique investment linked insurance plan that offers "cafeteria approach" for customers to pick and choose the savings and protection coverage to meet different financial needs. * Manulife also introduces Hong Kong's first investment-linked product with Guaranteed Withdrawal Benefit feature, the Manulife Secure IncomePlus. This first-to-Hong Kong variable annuity product, specially designed for Hong Kong's post-war ageing "baby boomers" generation, offers automatic step-up opportunities every five policy years, up to age 80, thereby increasing the value of the guaranteed withdrawal amount in line with the increase of the underlying investment funds in a rising market. > Year 2007 also sees Manulife winning many prestigious industry and brand awards, a testimony of Manulife's best-in-class product and services, business operation and strong branding: * Manulife Asia is honoured as the Life Insurance Company of the Year at the Asia Insurance Review Awards 2007, for its continued commitment to professionalism, excellent customer service and innovation with first-to-market products. * Manulife is rated one of the best companies in Greater China in a prestigious corporate leadership study by FORTUNE magazine, human resources firm Hewitt Associates and specialist leadership consultants The RBL Group. Manulife is the only insurance firm and the only Hong Kong company to receive the recognition. * Manulife is named the top insurance company and receives "Capital Weekly Pro Choice Awards" along with other leading brands in other business categories. It is also a fourth-time winner of both the "Yahoo! Emotive Brand" Award and Reader's Digest "Trusted Brands Gold Award" in insurance category in Hong Kong. * Top-class service and product also bring Manulife the Next Magazine's "Top Service Award" for eighth time in a row, a repeated win of the East Week magazine's "Hong Kong Service Awards" (previously named as the Quality Living Awards), and the Sing Tao "Excellence Services Brand Award". * Manulife's strength-in-depth financial planning capacity and the high level of professional expertise of its agency force is being affirmed by the "Hong Kong's Best Company for Financial Planning Excellence" award for insurance sector in the Institute of Financial Planners Hong Kong Financial Planner/SCMP Awards 2007. * Manulife's insurance advisor, Annie Ho, was named "The Best Financial Planner Gold Award" in Hong Kong by the Life Underwriters Association of Hong Kong. > Ardent support has won Manulife the Community Chest Walks for Million Challenge Cup and the Overall Top Fund-raiser Award and Hong Kong/Kowloon Walk Top Fund-raiser Award for six years in a row. Manulife has mobilized over 1500 staff and advisors to join the Walks in 2006/2007, and is a long-time supporter of the Community Chest Walks for Million. > Manulife Charitable Foundation donates the establishment of the new Sensory Integrative (SI) room at Heep Hong Society's Mary Wong Centre in Ngau Tau Kok. The Manulife SI Room contains special designed facilities to help children with special needs to overcome sensory-processing problems. > Manulife is awarded the "Caring Company" title by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for the fifth year.
