We always aim at creating a workplace that our employees feel valued and proud. To achieve this goal, we organize various functions to our staff every year which includes:
Research findings have shown that for a company to deliver service excellence to customers, its staff must be engaged with their work. In light of this, Manulife conducted its first Engagement Survey in 2004. The results of which indicated that we should focus on people issues. Thus, we launched the “Better Together” campaign soon afterwards, and people-related issues have remained the center of attention for many of the Company’s initiatives.
From 2007 Employee Engagement Pulse Check Survey, the overall results showed that the level of engagement is increasing steadily. We are pleased that most staff are proud to work for Manulife. They also value the positive working relationships with colleagues. We will continue our focus in three engagement drivers – Career Opportunities, Recognition and Pay/Benefits and Manulife management is committed to improve employee engagement and regard this as business priority.
Staff Olympic Dream
2008 is the long-awaited Olympic Year. As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, Manulife has organized a staff committee to design the Staff Olympic Dream campaign. This campaign will bring activities ranging from a chance for colleagues to be part of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, to different peer-to-peer recognitions. It consists of three overarching themes: * Dreams to Work Excellence Our recognition should never stop at Corporate level. This year, we recognize the truth that everyone can realize a dream in his/her own work area. Manulife has a good culture of recognition and we aim at taking it to a daily and more individual peer-to-peer level. * Dreams to Fitness A series of sports and fitness games are coming to challenge our staff’s thinking and determination on how to bring physical and mental health to the busy working lifestyle. * Dreams to Family Wellness Family is always important. It provides support through good and bad times. In Manulife, we encourage our staff to see family as a critical aspect of our lives.
