Manulife Life Insurance Company, Japan
Manulife Financial was one of the first foreign life insurance companies to establish operations in Japan, entering the market in 1901. Manulife re-entered Japan in 1999, laying the foundation for the establishment of Manulife Life Insurance Company (Manulife Japan).

Craig Bromley is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Manulife Life Insurance Company (Manulife Japan), as well as its President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Bromley's aim is to establish a strong business base for long-term success in the second largest life insurance market in the world. He commenced his current position in December 2007.
In June 2007, Mr. Bromley was appointed Executive Vice President and Deputy President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Manulife Japan, having served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Manulife Japan since October 2005.
Prior to his move to Japan, Mr. Bromley was Senior Vice President, Business Development and Investor Relations of Manulife Financial Corporation, responsible for Manulife's merger and acquisition activity, as well as its Investor Relations function. In this role, Mr. Bromley led Manulife's merger with John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. in April 2004. In addition to his M&A responsibilities, Mr. Bromley was accountable for leading a proactive strategic investor relations program, communicating with all members of the investor community from large institutional shareholders and equity research analysts to the more than one million individual shareholders of Manulife. He also managed the Company's relationship with rating agencies and with its stock transfer agent.
Mr. Bromley joined Manulife in March 2000. Upon entering the Company, he worked on a number of Manulife transactions, including the acquisition of Daihyaku in Japan, Commercial Union in Canada as well as other Canadian acquisitions, and supported regional business development activities in Asia.
Prior to joining Manulife, Mr. Bromley was Assistant Vice President, Business Development for Canada Trust, where he worked on the sale of Canada Trust to TD Bank. Mr. Bromley also has several years of experience working in management consulting and with the Ontario Government.
Mr. Bromley holds a Masters of Business Administration through a joint program of York University and Laval University and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
