What is ManuPrime Care?

ManuPrime Care provides comprehensive coverage on 71 critical illnesses(CIs) until the life insured reaches age 100 and covers for heart attack or stroke twice. The premium is fixed1 throughout the premium payment period.  

How we got you covered?

Comprehensive CI protection

Covers 60 major CIs - including cancer, heart attack and stroke, and 11 minor CIs.

Heart attack or stroke can be covered twice

Covers the life insured twice for a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or stroke2,3

Extra critical illness benefit

We will pay an extra 50% of the notional amount in the event of a major CI within the first 10 policy years. 

Additional cancer protection

The plan also pays up to an extra 10% of the notional amount for prostate or testicular cancer before age 75.

    ManuPrime Care is an insurance product provided and underwritten by Manulife (International) Limited (incorporated in Bermuda with limited liability). The above provides only general information on this product for your reference only. Please download the product leaflet now or ask your Insurance/Financial Advisor for a copy which will give you more details about this product including the “Important Information” showing the product risks.

    1. We guarantee that the basic plan premiums will not change as long as the notional amount agreed by you at policy inception remains unchanged. However, we do not guarantee that the premium and guaranteed cash value will remain unchanged if there is an increase in the notional amount, including those increases triggered by using the inflation protector option.
    2. There must be at least one year between the date of diagnosis of the heart attack or stroke (‘first heart attack or stroke’) and the date of the diagnosis of the heart attack or stroke after the first heart attack stroke (‘second heart attack or stroke’). After we have paid critical illness benefit for the first heart attack or stroke, the life insured would need to survive for at least 14 days (starting from the date of the second heart attack or stroke is diagnosed) for us to pay the claim for the second heart attack or stroke. Please see the policy provision for detailed terms and conditions.
    3. The coverage for the second heart attack or stroke is only applicable if the first major critical illness benefit we pay for is heart attack or stroke. Please see the policy provision for detailed terms and conditions.
    4. Wellness program is only available in Hong Kong and Macau. We reserve the right to change or terminate the wellness program at any time without giving you notice. The wellness program is provided by a third party service provider which is an independent contractor and is not our agent. We shall make no representation, warranty or undertaking as to the availability of any service of the third party service provider including the medical check-up service. We shall not be liable to the policyowner or the life insured in any respect of any loss, damage, expense, suit, action or proceedings suffered or incurred by the policyowner or the life insured, whether directly or indirectly, arising from or in connection with the services (including the wellness program) provided or advice given by such third party service provider and/or its agents, or the availability of such services.
    5. The service is provided by a third party service provider and we shall not take any responsibility for the service. The relevant hospital list (if any) may change from time to time.

    The VHIS Office recently discovered a translation error in the Chinese version of the Schedule of Surgical Procedures of the Certified Plan Policy Template. In the fracture/dislocation section of the Surgical Schedule, “clavicle” on the 8th and 12th items was mistranslated as “scapula” and “scapula” on the 13th item was mistranslated as “clavicle”. Manulife has reviewed and revised the relevant product information of Manulife’s VHIS certified plans upon the VHIS Office’s request, and has revised the Chinese version of the certified plans’ policy provisions accordingly.
