Walk For Millions

On the second Sunday of 2012, a 3,000-strong Manulife team took part in this year’s Walk For Millions by the Hong Kong Community Chest, recording the highest turn-out since Manulife began this annual charity act for a worthwhile cause 17 years ago. With the participation of over 15,000 Manulifers up to this year, the company has successfully raised an accumulative total of over HK$10 million for various social services operated by different welfare agencies of the Hong Kong Community Chest.

The team this year, donning smart Manulife wind-breakers, and led by Michael Huddart, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, as well as other senior management team members, completed the 10km journey from the Hong Kong Stadium to the Aberdeen Country Park Visitors Centre within just a few hours’ time. Also joining to help raise fund for family and child welfare services was Manulife’s friendly green-cube mascot, a symbol of the company’s four brand attributes of strong, reliable, trustworthy, and forward-thinking.

The completion of the feat owed a lot to the energetic cheering team accompanied by drum performance, as well as the food counters manned by senior management executives dressed as chefs, giving out delicious food. The event also proved to be a fun day-out for families with face-painting and balloon-twisting to keep the little ones entertained.

The Walk may be over but the philanthropist in you, your family and friends can still make donations to the Hong Kong Community Chest. Give now, and help the underprivileged live a better life.
