Member Benefit Statement

1. When will I receive my Annual Member Benefit Statement?

We will provide to each member of the Scheme an annual member benefit statement within 3 months of the end of the financial period of the scheme (financial year ending on Mar 31 each year). The statement is mailed to your correspondence address during May to June every year. If you hold more than one MPF account, you will receive annual benefit statements in respect of each account separately.

The annual member benefit statement is also available on the Customer website, you may visit our website www.manulife.com.hk and login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN to check your annual member benefit statement. Please refer to the Question 3 for the login details.

3. How to access my e-Member Benefit Statement on website?

You may visit our website www.manulife.com.hk and login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select "My Portfolio > MPF / ORSO / Pension > e-Statement" at top, then you can view your “Annual Member Benefit Statement” and monthly updated "Member Benefit Statement". Please note that Member Benefit Statement will be available online within 7 days after the first activation of PIN.

4. How can I check my MPF account balance?

You may check your MPF account balance in the following ways:

1. Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk, login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select “Account Details” under “My Portfolio” or select “MPF / ORSO / Pension > Account Details" at top, then you can check your account balance

2. Phone: Call our Smart Call hotline (852) 2108 1313. Select language and then key in the first 6-digit of your HKID / Passport Number, Date of Birth and PIN, follow the instruction, then you can check your account balance. Alternatively, please call our Employee Benefits Member hotline (852) 2108 1388.

3. Member Benefit Statement: Refer to your e-Member Benefit Statement by logging into our website. Please note that Member Benefit Statement will be available within 7 days after your first activation of PIN . Hard copy of your Annual Member Benefit Statement is also mailed to your correspondence address during May to June every year.

5 . How can I check my contribution status and amount?

You may check your MPF contribution record in the following ways:

1. Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk, login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select " MPF / ORSO / Pension > Contribution Record" at top, then you can access your contribution record for the past 24 months.

2. Phone: Call our Smart Call hotline (852) 2108 1313. Select language and then key in the first 6-digit of your HKID / Passport Number, Date of Birth and PIN, follow the instruction, then you can check your last contribution record.

3. Member Benefit Statement: Refer to your e-Member Benefit Statement by logging into our website. Please note that Member Benefit Statement will be available within 7 days after your first activation of PIN. Hard copy of your Annual Member Benefit Statement is also mailed to your correspondence address during May to June every year.

Fund Portfolio Change

6. How can I change my MPF fund portfolio?

You may change your MPF fund portfolio in the following ways:

1. Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk, login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select " MPF / ORSO / Pension > Fund Choice Management" at top, then submit your instruction(s) online. Please click here for the online service guide.

2. Phone: Call our Smart Call hotline (852) 2108 1313. Select language and then key in the first 6-digit of your HKID / Passport Number, Date of Birth and PIN to submit instruction. Please refer to the "Guide to Change your Fund Portfolio in Smart Call " for details.

3. Fax / Mail in: Download and complete the form and submit it to Manulife by fax to (852) 2104 3504 or by mail.

Notes:

Please do not submit the same instruction via multiple channels in order to avoid confusion and duplication.

7. How can I obtain the latest updates on MPF fund performance?

You can obtain the latest updates on MPF fund performance in the following ways:

Click " Fund Price / Investment Choice Price " icon next to “contact us” on the bar at the top of the website, then select "Manulife Global Select (MPF) Scheme" under "MPF & ORSO". please click “I have read and understood the above information” after reading the disclaimer. You can find the latest updates on MPF fund performance. Alternatively, please click here for downloading the latest Fund Fact Sheet.

2. Setting up MPF Fund Price Alert: Visit www.manulife.com.hk, login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select " MPF / ORSO / Pension > MPF Fund Price Alert" at top, then you can set up Fund Price Alert for constituent funds of your choice.

9. How do I change my address and contact information?

You may change your address and contact information in the following ways:

1. Internet: Visit www.manulife.com.hk, login with your Manulife Customer Number (MCN) or HKID / Passport Number and PIN. Select "Account Setting" at top, then click "Update Contact Information" and submit instruction online. Upon successful submission, we will update your record immediately.

2. Fax / Mail in: Complete the "Change of Contact Details Form" and submit it to Manulife by fax to (852) 2508 1629 or by mail to “Customer Contact Centre , Manulife (International) Limited, 21/F, Tower B, Manulife Financial Centre, 223-231 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tung, Kowloon, Hong Kong”. Upon receiving your completed form, we will update your record within 5 business days.

Transfer of Accrued Benefits

10. How can I transfer my MPF accrued benefits from other MPF service providers to Manulife? How long will it take?

Transfer by Employee Choice Arrangement (effective November 1, 2012):

If you are an employee under current employment and would like to make a transfer of accrued benefits (for transferring employee’s portion of contribution account during employment) under Employee Choice Arrangement, you may complete the "Employee Choice Arrangement ("ECA") – Transfer Election Form". Please read the "Guide to Transfer Benefits under Employee Choice Arrangement ("ECA")" before you fill in the form.


Transfer for Self-employed Person, Personal Account or Employee Ceasing Employment:

If you are a self-employed person, personal account holder or employee ceasing employment and would like to make a transfer of accrued benefits, you may complete the "Scheme Member’s Request for Fund Transfer Form".

If you would like to consolidate multiple personal accounts including voluntary contributions (if any and subject to the governing rules for the scheme) into one account, you may complete the “Scheme Member’s Request for Account Consolidation Form" alternatively.

Please submit the completed form(s) to Manulife by fax to (852) 2104 3504 or by mail to proceed the transfer. It may take 2-8 weeks to complete a transfer, depending on the nature of transfer and whether complete information is furnished.

11. How can I withdraw my MPF accrued benefits? How long will it take?

When you reach the retirement age of 65, you can withdraw your MPF accrued benefits. You may also elect to withdraw your accrued benefits earlier under the following circumstances:

  • early retirement at age 60 or over; or
  • permanent departure from Hong Kong; or
  • total incapacity; or
  • terminal illness; or
  • small balance account of less than HK$5,000; or
  • death

According to the MPF regulations, if you fulfill one of the above conditions, you can claim for payment of MPF accrued benefits. To claim for payment of MPF accrued benefits, please complete the appropriate forms and submit to Manulife (International) Limited, 21/F, Tower A, Manulife Financial Centre, 223-231 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong with other required documents by mail. Upon receiving all the required documents, we will process the request and mail a cheque in HK currency to your correspondence address within 30 days.

Reason of Withdrawal and Eligibility

Required forms and documents

1) Retirement

  • Claimant has reached age 65 or over

2) Early Retirement

  • Claimant has reached age 60 or over AND
  • Claimant has permanently ceased to be employed or self-employed

3) Permanent Departure from Hong Kong

  • Claimant departed / will depart from Hong Kong to reside elsewhere with no intention of returning for employment or to resettle in Hong Kong as a permanent resident AND
  • Claimant has not previously claimed payment for any accrued benefits in any registered scheme on grounds of permanent departure from Hong Kong on an earlier departure date

4) Total Incapacity

  • Claimant is permanently unfit to perform the kind of work that he was last performing before becoming incapacitated

5) Terminal Illness

  • Claimant who has an illness that is likely to reduce the life expectancy of the claimant to 12 months or less has terminal illness

6) Small Balance Account

  • Claimant does not intend to become employed or self-employed AND
  • Accrued benefits kept in the scheme do not exceed HK$ 5,000 as at the date of the claim AND
  • At least 12 months have elapsed since the contribution day in respect of the latest contribution period for which a mandatory contribution is required to be made to any registered scheme by or in respect of the claimant’s account(s) under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance AND
  • Claimant does not have accrued benefits kept in any other registered scheme

7) Death

  • Only the personal representative of the deceased member can claim for payment of accrued benefits

12. How can I login to your website to view my policy / account information?

You may follow the steps below to login to Manulife’s website:

1. Visit www.manulife.com.hk. Click "LOGIN" at the top right corner and select "PERSONAL CUSTOMER LOGIN"
2. Select and enter your HKID / Passport Number OR Username / MCN which is 9-digit starting with "3" followed by your PIN, then click the "LOGIN" button

13. What if I want to request a new PIN (first-time user) or if I have forgotten my PIN?

You may follow the steps below to request a new PIN:

1. Visit www.manulife.com.hk. Click "LOGIN" at the top right corner and select "PERSONAL CUSTOMER LOGIN"
2. Click the “Register” button or the hyperlink "Forgot PIN"
3. Enter your HKID / Passport Number and Date of Birth
4. Select the channel to receive your PIN:
- If you select “By SMS”, please also enter your registered Hong Kong or Macau mobile number
- If you select “By Email”, please also enter your registered email address

(Note: If you have not registered any mobile number / email address, please complete the "Change of Contact Details Form" and submit it to Manulife by fax to (852) 2508 1629 or by mail to “Customer Contact Centre , Manulife (International) Limited, 21/F, Tower B, Manulife Financial Centre, 223-231 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong”. Upon receiving your completed form, we will update your record within 5 business days.)

5. Create a one time activation code which must be in 8 alpha / numeric characters
