Manulife Hong Kong and Macau has recently identified fraudulent emails impersonating our company. The sender shown in these emails is: 香港MAFIEL <mafiel.sunwg-warpservices.co.za@shared1.ccsend.com>. Please note that these emails and their contents were not issued by Manulife.

The emails claim that a “premium recalculation has been completed” and that a credit balance is available for withdrawal. Recipients are asked to select a payment method via an online platform within 12 hours, failing which the amount will become invalid.

If you receive such emails, please do not click on any links or provide any personal or financial information, and delete the email immediately.

We have also observed similar fraudulent attempts through SMS. Please be cautious of suspicious SMS messages. Manulife will only send SMS to Hong Kong mobile numbers using a Registered SMS Sender ID that begins with "#Manulife." If you receive any SMS or links that appear suspicious or claim to be from Manulife, please do not reply, click, or open any links within the message.

Manulife would like to clarify that we will never request customers to provide credit card details or any sensitive personal information via email, SMS or embedded links, nor will we arrange any time-limited payment or collection requests through such means.

We want to emphasize that this website and all the information it contains — including the phone number, contact address, email address, and QR codes — are not owned, operated, associated with, or endorsed by Manulife.

We take this matter very seriously and have reported it to the Insurance Authority. We are coordinating with the regulatory body for further investigations and reserve the right to take any necessary legal action.

Manulife Hong Kong Appoints Albert Mak as Chief Agency Officer to Strengthen Distribution Capabilities

Hong Kong – Manulife Hong Kong and Macau is pleased to announce the appointment of Albert Mak as Chief Agency Officer, effective November 1, 2024. Mr Mak also serves as a member of the company’s senior management team. This appointment underscores Manulife's ongoing commitment to strengthening its agency force leadership in Hong Kong and Macau and maximizing its distribution capabilities through the agency channel.

In his new role, Mr Mak leads various agency functions to drive growth within Manulife’s over 10,000-strong agency force across Hong Kong and Macau. His responsibilities include leading the team to achieve sales, productivity, and recruitment goals with high quality standards. Mr Mak reports directly to both Rishi Srivastava, Chief Agency Officer, Asia, and Ivan Chan, Chief Distribution Officer, Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr Mak joined Manulife in May 2019 as Head of DBS Bancassurance, Assistant Vice President. He subsequently expanded his role to lead the company’s Business Development and Training team for both bancassurance partners, DBS and China CITIC Bank International. Since January 2023, he had led the agency force’s Business Development and Training team, where he was instrumental in driving strong sales performance and spearheading new initiatives. Notable among these is the establishment of the Private Wealth Planning team, which has been pivotal in capturing high-net-worth business for the agency channel.

With over 15 years of extensive professional experience, Mr Mak brings a wealth of expertise from his tenure at leading financial institutions such as HSBC Insurance, Standard Chartered Bank, and HSBC, with a focus in sales strategies and team development.

Mr Mak holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
