Manulife Hong Kong announces senior appointments to drive strategic developments

Hong Kong – Manulife Hong Kong has announced the senior appointments of Wilton Kee as Chief Financial Officer and Danny Lee as Chief Product Officer to strengthen the company’s leadership capabilities and drive its strategic initiatives. With talent development as a key focus in 2022, the announcement underscores Manulife Hong Kong’s ongoing mission to develop in-house talent and aid career progression, to ensure valuable specialist expertise enhances customer experience and operational efficiency.

The high calibre of these new appointments solidifies Manulife Hong Kong’s drive to encourage the continuous growth, development, and success of its employees. The company continually aspires to build a high performance, creative, and collaborative team to drive it forward with impressive growth, sustainable financial performance, and risk management.

Mr. Kee, as the new Chief Financial Officer, oversees the financial functions of Manulife’s operations in Hong Kong and Macau, including financial reporting, planning and control, capital management and planning, asset-liability management, treasury, and other finance-related matters. He also drives performance management and accountability for business results and strategic project initiatives across the Hong Kong and Macau business. Mr. Kee reports to Kenneth Rappold, Chief Financial Officer, Manulife Asia, and Damien Green, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr. Kee, a qualified actuary, joined Manulife in 2013 as the Pricing Officer for Individual Financial Products in Hong Kong. He was later promoted to Chief Product Officer for Individual Financial Products in 2016. In 2019, Mr. Kee led the successful launch of Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme solutions for Manulife Hong Kong. In 2020, he assumed additional responsibility as Head of Health and played a pivotal role in the formation of Manulife’s health strategy. Mr. Kee also has solid experience in actuarial pricing, financial reporting, and risk management, both in Hong Kong and Japan.

Mr. Lee, as the new Chief Product Officer, now takes on responsibilities for leading product development, pricing, and distribution compensation functions for both Hong Kong and Macau. He reports to Damien Green, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong and Macau, and becomes a new member of the senior management team.

Mr. Lee is a homegrown talent at Manulife Hong Kong who joined the company right after his graduation from university in 2004. In recent years, he has led the company’s efforts to establish effective product mix management to optimize business growth and value. As a Chartered Financial Analyst and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Mr. Lee is a qualified actuary with 17 years of diversified experience in business strategy, pricing, product design, distribution compensation and valuation of various product types and distribution channels.
