Manulife has recently identified fraudulent SMS messages claiming to be from “Manulife” or “宏利”. These messages claim that the recipient has taken out a savings insurance policy and that a payment will be deducted from an account in the recipient’s name. They also provide a suspicious phone number and encourage the recipient to call for enquiries or cancellation. Please note that these SMS messages and their contents are fraudulent and were not issued by Manulife.

If you receive any SMS message or link that appears suspicious or claims to be from Manulife, please do not reply to the message, call the phone number provided in the message, click on or open any links within the message, or provide any personal or financial information. Please delete the message immediately.

Manulife will only send SMS messages to Hong Kong mobile numbers using a Registered SMS Sender ID that begins with "#Manulife".

In addition, Manulife will never ask customers to provide credit card details or any sensitive personal information via SMS, email or embedded links, nor will we make any time-limited payment collection arrangements through such channels.
