For Immediate Release
July 29, 2026
Hong Kong — Manulife Hong Kong and Macau today announced the appointment of Carrie Tong as Chief Distribution Officer, Hong Kong and Macau, effective immediately. She succeeds Ivan Chan, who is leaving the company to pursue external opportunities.
In her new role, Ms Tong will be responsible for accelerating business growth across all distribution channels, diversifying partnerships to deliver superior value to different customer segments, and shaping a holistic distribution strategy for Hong Kong and Macau. She will also play a pivotal role in advancing the next generation of distribution — integrating channels, capabilities and digital to better serve customers and partners.
"We are delighted to welcome Carrie to this important role," said Wilton Kee, Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau. "Her extensive strategy and operations experience, deep understanding of our business, and strong relationships across our distribution community position her well to lead our distribution organization into its next phase of growth. I am confident that, together with our leadership team and distribution partners, Carrie will bring fresh perspectives to further advance our distribution transformation agenda."
Ms Tong joined Manulife in 2015 and has held a number of leadership roles spanning Asia and Hong Kong Strategy and Transformation, as well as the Macau Branch and its Distribution. Since becoming Chief Operations Officer in March 2023, she has driven significant improvements in customer experience, digital transformation, AI-enabled operations, service excellence, and operational effectiveness, while building a high-performing, customer-centric organization positioned for sustainable growth.
The appointment reinforces Manulife Hong Kong and Macau's commitment to developing talent succession, strengthening leadership continuity and advancing its distribution strategy, as the company continues to invest in serving the evolving needs of its customers and partners across both markets. The company also extends its sincere appreciation to Ivan Chan for his many years of dedicated service and valuable contributions to Manulife, and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
