Hong Kong — Manulife (International) Limited (“Manulife Hong Kong & Macau”) today announced the appointment of Lilian Ng as an Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board.
Ms. Ng brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in the life and health insurance industry across Asia and Australia. Over the course of her career, Ms. Ng has built a strong track record in driving growth, navigating economic cycles, and shaping corporate governance standards. She has served on the boards of numerous entities across Asia and has extensive experience engaging with regulators and supporting sound governance practices.
Ms. Ng is also a qualified actuary from Australia and has held senior leadership roles across actuarial, finance, strategy, and distribution. Her experience includes leading regional business development, building multi-distribution platforms, and advancing customer and digital strategies across diverse markets.
Commenting on the appointment, Wilton Kee, incoming Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau, said: “Ms. Ng’s deep industry expertise, regional perspective and strong governance experience will be a valuable addition to our Board. Previously, Ms. Ng held a range of senior leadership roles at Prudential plc, including Managing Director, Strategic Business Group and Regional Chief Executive Officer for Greater China, where she oversaw business and revenue performance across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and Taiwan. She also served as Chief Executive Officer, Insurance for Asia, and Chief Operating Officer at Prudential Corporation Asia. Over her 30-year tenure with Prudential, she gained extensive experience across actuarial, finance, strategy and distribution, and contributed to the development of multi-distribution platforms and customer strategies across the region.
Ms. Ng’s appointment reflects Manulife Hong Kong and Macau’s continued focus on strengthening governance, enhancing independent oversight and deepening Board expertise to support its long-term development.
