Manulife Hong Kong and Macau has recently identified fraudulent emails impersonating our company. The sender shown in these emails is: 香港MAFIEL <mafiel.sunwg-warpservices.co.za@shared1.ccsend.com>. Please note that these emails and their contents were not issued by Manulife.

The emails claim that a “premium recalculation has been completed” and that a credit balance is available for withdrawal. Recipients are asked to select a payment method via an online platform within 12 hours, failing which the amount will become invalid.

If you receive such emails, please do not click on any links or provide any personal or financial information, and delete the email immediately.

We have also observed similar fraudulent attempts through SMS. Please be cautious of suspicious SMS messages. Manulife will only send SMS to Hong Kong mobile numbers using a Registered SMS Sender ID that begins with "#Manulife." If you receive any SMS or links that appear suspicious or claim to be from Manulife, please do not reply, click, or open any links within the message.

Manulife would like to clarify that we will never request customers to provide credit card details or any sensitive personal information via email, SMS or embedded links, nor will we arrange any time-limited payment or collection requests through such means.

Beware of scams! Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages purported to be coming from our institution!

Protect your personal data by keeping your Manulife customer website login password safe and change your password regularly. Manulife will never call you or send any SMS/email asking for your Manulife customer website login password. Stay vigilant for suspicious phone calls, emails, websites, apps and hyperlinks embedded in instant electronic messages, etc. allegedly related to Manulife. If you receive any calls claiming to be from Manulife, authenticate the caller’s identity (e.g. full name of the advisor and his/her Insurance/MPF Intermediary License No. or full name of the Manulife customer service officer). If the caller refuses to disclose such information, please do not continue with the conversation. Also, if you notice any suspicious transaction activities in your account with Manulife, or any account that is under your name but not set up by you, please inform us immediately.     Hospitals offer various accommodation options with different facilities, and the categorisation used by the hospitals may be different from the definitions in the relevant policy/benefit provisions.     Manulife First VHIS Flexi Plan is an indemnity hospital insurance product provided and underwritten by Manulife. The above provides only general information on this product. It does not form part of the policy and does not contain full terms of the policy. You should read the policy provisions for the exact terms and conditions that apply to this product.     1. Tax deduction for the qualifying premiums paid under VHIS policy (not including levy) will be based on the premiums paid after deducting the premium discount (if any). Whether tax deduction is allowable for the qualifying premiums paid under VHIS policy (not including levy) are subject to the Inland Revenue Ordinance and the circumstances of the policy holder (as taxpayer) and the insured person(s) (as specified relative(s)). Please refer to the website of the IRD or contact the IRD directly for any tax related enquiries. Manulife does not provide tax and/or legal advice. You should consult independent tax and/or legal advisor if needed.
    2. Healthcare network provider shall mean healthcare network medical practitioner and healthcare network facility.

      Healthcare network medical practitioner shall mean a registered medical practitioner of designated specialty(ies) (if any) included and specified in the list of healthcare network provider available on the Company’s online application(s) or website after appropriate authentication.

      Healthcare network facility shall mean hospitals, cancer centres, day case centres and medical service providers who have entered into credit facility arrangements with the Company to provide services to the insured persons under the policy on the Company’s undertaking to pay for the services so provided and have included in the list of healthcare network provider available on the Company’s online application(s) or website after appropriate authentication.

      The list of healthcare network provider is available on the Company’s online application(s) or website after appropriate authentication. The list may be varied, updated and amended from time to time at the Company’s discretion without prior notification. Any change shall be deemed as effective as of the effective date as stated on the list.

      Healthcare network medical practitioners and healthcare network facilities are not operated by the Company nor the Company’s agents or employees. The Company is not the agent of the healthcare network medical practitioners or healthcare network facilities; and accepts no responsibility and/or liability for the quality and availability of the services, or for any advice provided through the services. The Company shall not be liable and/or responsible for any acts or omissions of a healthcare network medical practitioner or healthcare network facility in the provision of such services.

      The Company is not responsible for maintaining any medical information of the insured person in relation to services provided by healthcare network medical practitioners or healthcare network facilities. Any information disclosed to the healthcare network medical practitioners or healthcare network facilities by the policy holder or insured person shall not constitute any actual, constructive, or deemed knowledge of the Company of the same, and shall not affect the Company’s right to contest the policy and any other policies the Company issued/to be issued to the insured person, unless such information has actually been disclosed to the Company or the Company has actual knowledge of such information.
    3. This service is a value-added service and does not form part of the contractual benefits, nor does it form part of the VHIS Certified Plan. Manulife reserves the right to change its designated medical service provider(s) for each service from time to time or to terminate these services at any time without prior notice. These services are subject to the terms and conditions set out on the service details page on our website at www.manulife.com.hk.
    4. In the event that any benefit under the policy for a policy year that falls in the no claim period becomes payable after the health discount has been applied to the premium, the health discount shall be recalculated for all policy years subsequent to such benefit. The policy holder shall repay to the Company the difference between the health discount actually provided by the Company and the recalculated health discount to be entitled immediately upon the Company's demand. You should read the policy provisions for exactly how the health discount is calculated and given. For the avoidance of doubt, if you are also eligible for the ManulifeMOVE discount, the health discount will be calculated based on the premium due and payable after deducting the ManulifeMOVE discount.
    5. ManulifeMOVE does not form part of this VHIS certified plan. ManulifeMOVE premium discount will automatically be applied to Manulife First according to the attained MOVE Reward Level, by deducting from the renewal premium amount due for the next policy anniversary that falls into the following membership year. The relevant premium discount is subject to terms and conditions. Manulife reserves the right to change, terminate or cancel the premium discount without prior notice.     6. International medical assistance does not form part of this VHIS certified plan. It is provided by a third party service provider which is an independent contractor and is not the Company’s agent. The Company shall make no representation, warranty or undertaking as to the availability of any medical opinions given by the medical service provider or any services given by the service provider. The Company shall not be liable for any fault, negligence and/or default in the services provided by the service provider. This service may be subject to service charges payable to and determined by the third party service provider from time to time. The Company will not be liable for any transactions therein or any default in the services offered by the third party service provider. The service may change from time to time.
