What is ManuGuard Medical Plan/Benefit?

No one knows what tomorrow brings. With ManuGuard Medical Plan/Benefit (‘Manuguard’), you and your loved ones will always be able to get the medical attention you need, when you need it.

How we got you covered?

Provides surgical benefits and a wide range of pre- and post-hospitalization medical services, including outpatient care and home nursing.

Get rewarded for staying healthy - receive a health bonus¹ if you’ve made no claim for at least 2 consecutive policy years.

The plan gives the life insured extra medical protection against cancer, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure².

The plan will be renewed automatically every year throughout the lifetime of the life insured upon payment of premium, regardless of the life insured’s health conditions at the time of renewal³.

You can add supplementary benefits to your ManuGuard to supplement the core coverage.

    Hospitals offer various accommodation options with different facilities, and the categorisation used by the hospitals may be different from the definitions in the relevant policy/benefit provisions. If you are unsure of whether a particular accommodation option meets the relevant ward class definitions under these policy/benefit provisions, please contact Manulife before confinement.

    ManuGuard Medical Plan/ ManuGuard Medical Benefit is an insurance product provided and underwritten by Manulife (International) Limited. The above provides only general information on this product for your reference only. Please download the product leaflet or ask your Insurance/Financial Advisor for a copy which will give you more details about this product including the ‘Important Information’ showing the product risks.

    1. Health bonus will be offered according to the length of no claim period:
      No Claim Period Health Bonus 
      Percentage of Premium (including extra premiums and excluding the premiums for any supplementary benefits) for Policy Year after No Claim Period
      2 to 4 consecutive policy years  8%
      5 or more consecutive policy years 16%
      If any claim incurred in respect of the no claim period becomes payable after a health bonus has been given in respect of such no claim period, we shall deduct such health bonus from such claim payment and/or future claim payment(s). The aforesaid description and the health bonus table are for general information only. You should read the Policy Provisions or Benefit Provisions for exactly how the health bonus is calculated and given.
    2. If the life insured is diagnosed with cancer, heart attack, stroke or kidney failure, as defined in the Policy Provisions or Benefit Provisions (as the case may be), and receive treatment in hospital, we will provide an extra benefit by increasing designated benefit limits. This extra benefit will end on the policy anniversary nearest to the life insured’s 75th birthday. Please see the Policy Provisions or Benefit Provisions for the details of this extra benefit, the definitions of the major illnesses, and the conditions that apply.
    3. The period of coverage of the plan is one year and is renewable annually at each policy anniversary. You have a guaranteed right to renew this plan subject to the terms and conditions determined by us. The premiums are not guaranteed and we may adjust them from time to time. Please also see 'Premium adjustment’ and 'Renewal’ under the ‘Important Information’ section in the product leaflet and the relevant annual premium table of this plan.
    4. International Medical Assistance is provided by a third party service provider which is an independent contractor and is not our agent. We shall make no representation, warranty or undertaking as to the availability of any medical opinions given by the medical service provider or any services given by the service providers. The services may change from time to time.
